About the Role

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the integrity, accuracy and day to day management of the loan portfolio. This role sits across lending operations and finance, with a strong focus on accounts payable style invoice processing, loan accounting, repayments and reconciliations.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, your duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Oversee end-to-end loan book accounting, including origination, repayments, reconciliations, credit notes, write-offs and reporting
  • Manage high-volume invoice payments and ensure timely, accurate processing across multiple jurisdictions and product lines
  • Lead, coach and develop a small team of loan operations and accounting staff, including performance management
  • Maintain robust internal controls, support audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, implement corrective actions and improve loan administration processes
  • Collaborate with finance, risk, operations and external stakeholders to ensure completeness and accuracy of loan records
  • Identify opportunities to optimise systems, streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency
  • Provide exceptional service to clients, external partners and internal stakeholders throughout the loan lifecycle
This is a hands on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building structure, improving processes and operating in a fast paced fintech environment.

About You

You will bring experience from fintech, non bank lending, financial services or a similarly complex payments environment, with a strong understanding of loan operations and accounting.

You will likely demonstrate:
  • Experience managing loan portfolios, payments, repayments and reconciliations
  • Strong exposure to accounts payable style invoice processing in a high volume environment
  • Solid understanding of loan accounting, write offs, credit notes and internal controls
  • Proven people leadership experience, including coaching and performance management
  • Experience supporting audits and working within compliance frameworks
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to investigate and resolve issues
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to work with clients and professional stakeholders
  • Comfort operating in a scaling organisation with evolving systems and processes
