About the Role
 
Reporting to the CFO and acting as their 2IC, you will play a key role in overseeing global financial operations, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, and leading a team of finance professionals across multiple regions.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls and applicable accounting standards.
  • Drive consistency and efficiency across accounting systems and procedures to optimise financial operations and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage cash flow and foreign exchange exposures. Optimise working capital cycles, oversee inventory accounting, and deliver initiatives to improve stock turnover and reduce obsolescence.
  • Maintain robust product costing methodologies and manage intercompany transfer pricing frameworks to improve pricing accuracy, margin management, and compliance with tax and audit obligations.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions. Manage audits and oversee tax reporting and compliance requirements globally.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the finance team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage ongoing professional development.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. Evaluate risks and opportunities through detailed financial data and scenario modelling.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets. Lead the ANZ accounting team while promoting collaboration across global finance teams. Contribute to long-term organisational planning and strategy.
About You
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • You are a qualified CPA or CA.
  • You bring a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Financial Controller.
  • You have a deep understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience in the retail, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors is essential.
  • You’ve successfully led the consolidation of reporting across multiple business units and managed global audit processes.
  • You are a strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across teams and regions.
  • You’re highly proficient in financial systems or ERP platforms – experience with NetSuite is a strong advantage.
  • Previous Big 4 experience, followed by a successful transition into industry, is highly desirable.
  • You have proven experience managing financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions and possess strong technical knowledge of AIFRS/IFRS.
