We're partnering with one of Australia's most established and respected diversified property and construction groups to recruit a Group Tax Manager into a newly created, standalone role. With a track record and an expanding international footprint, this business operates across the full property lifecycle, development, construction, fitout, procurement, finance and more, across a complex multi-entity group structure.
Reporting directly to the Group CFO, this is a rare opportunity to be the first dedicated tax resource in the business and to genuinely shape how the function operates. You won't be inheriting someone else's way of doing things, you'll be building it.
About The Role
This is a hands-on, high-impact role that spans the full breadth of tax, compliance, governance, advisory and stakeholder engagement. You'll work across Australian and international entities, with exposure to property-specific tax issues (development structures, land tax, stamp duty, JVs and trusts) alongside the full suite of corporate tax obligations.
Key Responsibilites:
- Owning all group tax compliance; income tax, GST, FBT, PAYG, land tax and stamp duty across a multi-entity structure
- Leading tax effect accounting and deferred tax under AASB 112
- Providing strategic tax advice on property transactions, development structures, acquisitions and restructures
- Managing transfer pricing and international tax obligations
- Building and maintaining the Group's tax governance framework, internal controls and risk registers
- Managing external advisor and ATO relationships, including audit and review processes
- Driving automation and process improvement across tax workflows
About You
- CA or CPA qualified with Big 4 training (essential)
- 8-10+ years in tax with a strong blend of compliance and advisory
- Technical depth across income tax, GST, FBT, PAYG, land tax and tax effect accounting
- Experience in property, construction or a complex multi-entity group environment
- Confident communicator with the ability to brief and advise executive stakeholders
- Self-directed, comfortable owning a function, not just executing tasks
