About The Role

This is a genuine opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to take ownership of the design and technical delivery of hyperscale and AI ready data centre developments, from concept through to construction and commissioning.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will provide technical leadership across electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, hydraulics and fire protection disciplines, coordinating consultants, utility providers, equipment vendors, contractors and customer technical representatives throughout the design lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading engineering design and technical development of hyperscale and AI ready data centre projects
  • Managing the end to end design process and chairing design workshops and technical coordination meetings
  • Establishing and maintaining engineering design standards and governance processes
  • Leading value engineering, constructability and operational readiness reviews
  • Coordinating with electricity network providers, water authorities and telecommunications carriers
  • Supporting procurement, technical evaluations and contract negotiations
  • Providing engineering oversight during construction, commissioning and handover
  • Acting as the primary engineering interface for customers, consultants and regulatory authorities
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 8 to 15 years' experience in engineering design, design management or technical project delivery within data centres, mission critical facilities or complex infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary consultants through concept, detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning
  • Strong understanding of mission critical electrical and mechanical systems, redundancy philosophies and operational resilience
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian Standards, the National Construction Code and statutory approval processes
  • Experience delivering hyperscale, colocation or high density AI ready infrastructure highly regarded
  • Experience within a developer, owner operator or private equity backed organisation is advantageous
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), or progressing towards chartership, well regarded
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills
