This is a fast growing, mission driven fintech operating in a regulated environment and making a genuine impact in people's lives. Backed by strong growth, an expanding national footprint, and a technology first mindset, the business combines commercial discipline with purpose. You will be joining a collaborative, high accountability culture where people value ownership, pace and getting things done properly.
About the Role
This is a hands on, end to end IT role suited to a senior operator who enjoys being close to the detail. Reporting into the Head of Technology and Development, you will own day to day IT operations, security posture, vendor management and internal user support.
You will play a key role in maintaining and uplifting the organisation's security and compliance posture, including supporting ISO aligned frameworks, while also being the go to person for practical problem solving across systems, devices and SaaS platforms. This is not a pure strategy role. You will be equally comfortable shaping improvements as you are jumping in to fix issues when needed.
Key responsibilities include
- Owning IT operations across end user computing, identity and access management, SaaS platforms and cloud services
- Managing information security controls, policies and ongoing ISO aligned compliance activities
- Acting as the primary escalation point for internal IT and security issues, supported by junior resources
- Managing technology vendors, contracts and service providers
- Partnering with risk and compliance stakeholders on audits, controls and reviews
- Driving continuous improvement in reliability, security and employee experience
You are an experienced IT professional who has worked in small to mid sized organisations or scale up environments where you were required to be hands on. You are comfortable balancing security, operational stability and user experience without layers of bureaucracy.
You will likely bring
- 10 + years experience across IT operations, infrastructure and security
- Practical experience contributing to ISO 27001, SOC2 or similar frameworks
- Strong understanding of Australian privacy, security, and financial services regulatory obligations.
- Strong knowledge of cloud and SaaS environments such as Google Workspace, AWS or Azure, identity providers and device management
- Confidence engaging with non technical stakeholders and translating technical issues clearly
- A proactive, accountable mindset and a willingness to roll your sleeves up
- Experience in fintech, financial services, legal, or other regulated environments will be highly regarded.
- A competitive salary and share options package.
- Five weeks of leave per year.
- High impact role with real ownership and visibility
- Strong business momentum and genuine career growth as the organisation scales
- Collaborative, office first environment based in the Sydney CBD
- Opportunity to shape systems, security and ways of working rather than inherit rigid legacy processes
